Wet Paint I

$3,550.00

acrylic and oil on canvas

30” H x 24” W x 1.5” D

About a year ago, I started using a canvas drop cloth as a surface upon which to mix my paints. As I painted piece after piece, the drop cloth began to take on a life of its own. If you look carefully, you can see the fingerprints, pools of silver paint, and bits of pumice. Once I noticed the quiet conversations between layers of paint, I intentionally added strokes which linked seemingly disparate colors and forms from multiple paintings.

Art is the search for the poetry around us. It’s just as much about cleaning brushes, mixing and spilling paint as it is about stepping back to witness beauty.

Wet Paint is a sculptural abstract that captures what it feels like to get our hands dirty while exploring, iterating, refining, chasing, and honing in on a concept. Creation is anything but static; the paint is always wet.
