Moonwalk offers a bit of magic, a dazzling lunar surface building upon subtle earthly elements. To create this piece, I first glued dried strawflower petals from Canada to the wooden canvas and applied washes of brilliant pink and electric blue. Then I added the lunar surface texture via clear granular gel and glazed the piece with a silver mirror-like paint, retaining some of the original pink and blue. Can you spot the flower petals in the painting?

Moonwalk will never look the same twice. At sunrise the colors will appear quite different than they look at sunset. My use of reflective paint integrates the changing light of the environment into the piece itself, reminding us of the beauty around us. The edges are painted with a cheerful orange that creates a glowing effect against the wall, brightening your day.
